Forcepoint Launches “DLP Everywhere” to Secure More Locations and Channels . Expanding data loss prevention to everywhere data resides and anywhere people workKevin Oliveiradata protectiondata securitydlpremote workforce security

Today we are extending data loss prevention (DLP) to more security vectors, interfaces, and data locations for even more precise control of your data where it resides and how it is use.  With today’s release of Forcepoint DLP 8.9, customers can more effectively protect data leaving email, gain greater visibility and control within Microsoft (Office) 365 apps and improve automation and control of data from popular ITSM and BI tools such as ServiceNow, Nagios and Tableau.

These new features build on momentum behind a DLP platform recognized by Frost & Sullivan (Asia Pacific DLP Company of the Year for 2021), and by Radicati Group (Top Player, Data Loss Prevention Market Quadrant 2021) – both recognizing Forcepoint’s leadership in DLP innovation and ability to bring DLP everywhere that matters most for our customers – keeping their data secure while enabling our customers flexibility and freedom in their work.  Forcepoint Launches “DLP .

DLP for Cloud Email

Email is the most dangerous vector for data loss today.  With this release, Forcepoint opens cloud email as an additional channel for our leading DLP solution. With the advent of COVID-19 and the huge move to remote work, email volumes have increased dramatically with 83% of organizations experiencing email data breaches. Forcepoint Launches “DLP .

There are many companies today that provide strong email hygiene protecting inbound email from malware and phishing. However, other options either do not include DLP at all, or they use a very weak implementation.  In comparison, Forcepoint DLP has over 1,500 predefined templates and classifiers leveraging automation, machine learning, and fingerprinting, enabling very precise policies to identify data and files.

For current DLP customers, adding a cloud email license just takes a few clicks in the Forcepoint Security Manager. With something so simple, the benefits of securing this dangerous threat vector represent one of the best investments that can be made in security today.

Microsoft (Office) 365 Granularity

Another notable feature of today’s launch is our ability to give customers even greater visibility to data at rest and in motion within the Microsoft365 suite.

The Microsoft 365 suite is a highly popular location for data with over 315 million pay seats, 250 million active Teams users and even greater adoption of SharePoint and strong adoption of OneDrive.

This translates to many companies today with data in Microsoft 365 needing as fine granularity as possible to gain visibility and control into all their data.

All Microsoft 365 data is not alike – there may be types of data that may need special attention in Teams that would not need the same type of attention (and action) as it would in SharePoint. Forcepoint now offers the ability to implement different actions on different behaviors within Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.  In this way, Forcepoint gives customers greater flexibility and freedom in their work while keeping all their Office 365 data secure.

Incident Management REST APIs

Additionally, Forcepoint is launching the ability for customers to work from 3rd party platforms via RESTful APIs.  RESTful APIs were developed in the past for http/http(s) within the constraints of REST architectural style enabling efficient interaction with RESTful web services.

Today represents our first step into REST APIs with incident management that can be then view and acted on within popular third party programs such as ServiceNow, Nagios and Tableau.

These programs have automation capabilities within them and so creates opportunities for Data Security Admins as well as broader systems management and analysts for even greater automation of incident management and response in the future.

This also allows for the same individuals to manage their DLP through a single UI of their choice instead of needing to operate only within the FSM.

We will continue to release further REST APIs in 2022 to give even greater opportunity for innovative security management and automation to our customers.
